Hi there, john thepeelerman here!
My bamix was given to me many years ago by the boss of bamixuk as a present and I have to say it is the best present I have ever received, thanks Kevin!
I was also given 3 nuggets of wisdom,
a) always turn off at the socket when changing a blade.
b) take your finger off the start buttons if not immersed in liquid.
c) ENJOY!
Here are some more tips that I hope will help and if you have any gems please just send them over to me and I will publish them on cutveg. Remember-enjoy!
Tip 1
Place food or liquid ingredients in tall, narrow receptacles. These will work better with the Bamix than if you use wide or shallow receptacles.
Tip 2
Immerse the mixing wand in liquids before turning on the bamix.
Tip 3
Set the speed to the No. 2 setting. This is especially important when working with hard foods or a large amount of food. However, if you're working with liquid and it doesn't cover the safety guard of the mixer, set the speed to No. 1. If you're making food that has to be fluffy and light, such as whipped cream, the speed setting should be set to No. 1
Tip 4
Rest the appliance on the bottom of the jug before "drawing it up." Raise it up, holding it at an angle, keeping it against the side of the jug and moving it slowly. Then put it back on the bottom and repeat until the products are stiff enough. This is a technique to use when whipping products
Tip 5
Rotate your wrist gently when processing. Instead of pressing the Bamix into the food products, let it gently "fall" into them.
Tip 6
Place the Bamix in the ingredients at an angle when you're going to be blending the foods or liquids. Switch the appliance on and stir slowly. The ingredients are mixed due to your stirring more so than due to the speed of the appliance. Make sure to switch off the Bamix before removing it from the ingredients to prevent spilling.
